Electricity Plan FAQs

Questions? We Can Help!

Can the price of my fixed rate plan change?
The 4Change energy charge component of your rate will never change for the duration of your fixed rate plan. However, your local TDU reserves the right to adjust its charges which are passed through to you without markup. Also changes in laws or regulations that impose new or modified costs beyond our control could change your price. Such changes directly impact your average price per kilowatt hour. Full details can be found in your TOSA and EFL.

What is a fixed rate plan?
A fixed-rate plan is a retail electric plan with a term of at least 3 months for which the price for each billing period of the contract term is the same throughout the contract term except for certain changes in TDU charges or laws that impose new or modified costs beyond our control. The details of your plan are broken out on your EFL.

What is the difference between a fixed rate and variable rate?
A fixed rate plan must have a term of at least 3 months and the price is fixed for the duration of the plan except for changes in TDU charges or certain laws mentioned above.

A variable rate can fluctuate from month to month with no minimum term requirement (check your EFL for more information).

What is a “green” plan?
Our green plans offer 100% renewable energy, whereas our standard plans offer 6%.

Can I upgrade my plan to a “green” plan?
Yes. You can upgrade your current plan to a green plan at any time for $4.95 a month. Simply log in to your account and edit your Additional Settings.

How do I know I am getting the lowest rates when you donate money to charities?
We strive to reduce every cost so we can pass the savings on to you, and our prices are very competitive. Even so, we think it’s important to share a portion of our profits with our neighbors in need. It doesn’t cost you any extra, and you still get to help others in your community.
